I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that my skin is always at its absolute worst at this time of year. With the colder temperatures comes scaly and even crusty skin (yum), and my face always bears the brunt of it. At the very same time, over indulging in all the scrummy food and alcohol over the festive period has me breaking out in spots and blackheads left, right and centre. Having combination skin to boot makes buying skincare products a bit of a nightmare when you’re trying to combat several issues in one go so I’m usually overly cautious about the products I use on my face. This year however my skin has been particularly bad so I reached for the new skincare range Palmer’s Cocoa Butter in an act of sheer desperation Read more..
Jo Malone is one of those brands we’ve all heard about, but not necessarily had the opportunity or the funds to try. That is the exact reason I jumped for joy when I received my invitation to the Jo Malone English Oak launch at the Cambridge store. I am so, so lucky to have been asked to attend this event, and I was beyond excited about it! I’ve always heard amazing things about Jo Malone, and their products are the definition of Instagram-worthy, so it was high time I gave them a go! Read more..
A little while ago I was contacted to review a pair of Koko lashes. I’d never heard of Koko lashes before, but after doing some research I was excited to try them out. They have so many different kinds of lashes and they are all handmade with high quality synthetic fibres and human hairs. To top it off they’re cruelty free! One of my absolute favourite things in a beauty brand, and something I definitely look for before buying a product. I decided to go for a slightly bolder than usual style of falsies (bolder for me anyway) for something different. Read more..
Oh look, we’re in June already. Yep, my timing is completely off but no matter! It was never my intention to post my My Little Box treasures each month when I signed up to this subscription box. My first box was amazing. My May box blew April straight out of the water, so I would be selfish to not share it with you all. The theme of this box is “Friday Night” which I loooove. Since coming home from University last year, I barely go out drinking now, especially not on a Friday night. Funnily enough, when I received this box on Thursday 11th May, I was actually going on a proper night out the next day… It’s like someone at My Little Box HQ just KNEW I would be needing it. As I write this, I am sipping my third glass of prosecco, getting into the party mood. I don’t want to put this off any longer, let’s delve straight in with why this months My Little Box had me grinning from ear to ear. Read more..
Adulting is pretty darn hard sometimes. Especially when you work 9-5 (or in my case 8.30-4.30) and you just have no time to shop anymore. I can still grab all my beauty and clothing items with my online shopping sites – it’s almost like second nature to me now. The things I’m always forgetting to pick up are just the bog standard drug store bits. I usually pick these up “whilst I’m in town” but as that never happens anymore, I’m finding myself getting caught short far too often these days. Chemist.co.uk gave me a whopping £50 budget to spend on whatever my heart desired from their site, so I’m going to show you, not only how far that £50 got me, but also the huge variety of products available on their site. Who on this earth doesn’t love a good subscription box?! The only problem is finding the RIGHT subscription box. There are so many out there to choose from and the task of picking just one is a little daunting. Recently I ended my long-running Papergang subscription as I just wasn’t able to go through that level of stationary *sob*. So I thought I would re-invest that monthly payment into a new beauty/fashion/lifestyle subscription which ticks all the boxes. In this post I’ll be giving you the low down on the My Little Box subscription box and reviewing the April box goodies! So if you’re thinking of treating yourself to a surprise box of goodies in the form of a subscription box, keep reading on… Read more..
Everyone needs a good face masque in their lives, and there’s one really simple thing we could all do to look after our skin a little better: moisturise. So why not combine the two? Genius. In this post I will be talking about Dr Botanicals advanced over night purifying masque which is vegan friendly and packed with all natural goodness to help to improve the overall quality of your skin. I’ll also be sharing with you an exclusive discount code which grants you a whopping £60 off?! You can’t really say no to that can you! Read more..
Having white silver hair is bloody fantastic, I won’t lie. However, there are unfortunately some downsides; the upkeep is incredibly high maintenance and bleach is undeniably terrible for your hair. I’m incredibly luck to have been graced with naturally thick hair, but it’s condition has definitely deteriorated over the last year since I began the bleaching process. It can be so dry, brittle and even goes as far as snapping if I put too much stress on it – eeek! In December 2016 I’d finally had enough and began researching how to better look after my hair (without having to give up my bleach addiction). I was thankfully contacted soon after by Urtekram about their 100% organic shampoo and conditioner. So did it revive my damaged hair? Keep reading to find out more!
I’ve admittedly never tried a single Clinique product before. I’m not all too sure why that is. I think I just had this strange unfounded impression that Clinique was mega-expensive and branded for Mums/Grandmas. I’m now kicking myself for such ignorance after the amazing Clinique event at Brewin Dolphin in Cambridge a few weeks ago. On this glorious Christmas eve, get cosy and settle into my exclusive re-enactment of the event. I’ll also be (as always) revealing the VERY generous Clinique goodie bag. It’s definitely one of the most generous goodie bags I’ve ever received!!
A little while ago I received the loveliest surprise email in my inbox. It was an invitation to attend a blogging event to celebrate the first birthday of Rush Hair salon in Cambridge. Having been at University for the last few years I hadn’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Rush Hair, but I’m well aware of their amazing reputation nonetheless. I was beyond excited to attend this meet up, in fact I couldn’t send my acceptance response quick enough! I think I was so worried I’d been invited by mistake I thought if I dashed in their quickly they would feel too awkward to un-invite me!! Of course that wasn’t the case but it’s so new to me to be invited to wonderful things like this. In this post I’ll be talking about the wonderful event at Rush Hair salon. I’ll also be giving you all an exclusive peak into the Rush Hair goodie bag, the goodie bag I almost forgot… More on that later.
