Threads False Lashes: Red Cherri & Charleston

I have been absolutely DYING to talk to you guys about this amazing brand for weeks now, I just can’t wait to get started!Threads False Eyelashes out of the packet www.wingitwithjade.com When I was first contacted about receiving this product in exchange for posting a review on my blog, I was super excited as I have never received anything like this (I am only a baby blogger after all).
Having said that, I did feel the pressure a little bit. Although I do love me some false eyelashes, I am in no way shape or form an expert. I stick to the one drug store brand that I have tried, simply because it’s cheap and cheerful and it’s always fit the bill for me. I can honestly say that I am now a changed woman after trying Threads false lashes. Yes, I do realise how cheesy that sounds, but my eyes have honestly been opened (excuse the pun) to the world of false eyelashes! There’s no turning back now…

In this post I will be telling you all about the brand THREADS & I will provide a short how-to to help you all master your false lashes once and for all. I will also be talking about these lashes and how I will choose to wear them!

THREADS Beauty

Threads is an eyelash and brow brand which is based outside of the UK, which would explain why I’d never heard of them until I was contacted. Their products range from false lashes, to threading, to eyebrow products (these guys are definitely ones to watch from what I’ve seen). All of their products can be found online here but today I will be focusing on their angel lashes.

In their angel lashes collection there is SO much to choose from! The full list includes: Angel Eyes, BeBop, Celestial, Charleston, Emiloo, Red Cherri, Rock Chick, Sex Kitten, Vavavoom. You can check out the website if you want to see the full range, but today I’ll be reviewing Red Cherri and Charleston.

The Angel lashes are made with featherweight technology (very fancy), an extra flexible lash band for comfortable wear and are all handmade!!! The Angel glues are fragrance free and Latex free (AND BLUE! I’ll come to that later), which is also a huge bonus as I know quite a few people with latex allergies!

Step one – Trim your Lashes to fit

It’s really important to make sure that your lashes fit your eye… That sounds absolutely ridiculous until you really think about it. If your false lash is much longer than your natural lashes they will hang over the edge and be too heavy, resulting in them most likely hanging off the end of your eye by the end of the night. Another negative with having too long lashes is that you will be putting them too close to your tear duct which will look less natural and be really sore and painful! That’s enough to ruin anyone’s night.

Threads False Eyelashes Lineup www.wingitwithjade.com

My advice would be to line your false lashes up against your real lashes, as though you were applying them, and decide how much you should get rid of. Always cut from the inner corner (the shortest length of the lash) so you don’t lose that wonderful dramatic effect. I usually only end up cutting off the smallest amount. Don’t go too crazy!

Step two – Apply the glue

Apply a thin layer of glue (think of Goldilocks and the Three Bears – not too much, not too little, but juuuust riiiight). Allow roughly 30 seconds for it to set slightly. To distract myself in this time I always shake my lashes about like I’m in an Outkast video, or you could just blow on them… What ever works for you!

Imagine my surprise when I realised that this lash glue is BLUE?! It’s like something from Breaking Bad! I was honestly so chuffed with this glue though, it dries clear you’ll be relieved to know, but it’s also so long-lasting! When I came to take my lashes off at the end of the day they were still perfectly in place and I have every faith that they would last all night!

Step three – Carefully apply your Lashes

As I’ve said previously, be careful to place your lashes where your natural lashes thicken out. If you apply them too close to the tear duct it will be painful and not as effective! At this point some people prefer to use tweezers or eyelash applicators to help them, but I’ve always found that a bit more trouble than it’s worth. Remember: this part does need practice, so don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t go on perfectly the first time. Just repeat step two and try again.

Step four – Tap down firmly

Once you’re happy with the placement of your lashes, apply slight pressure with your finger tips for less than a second at a time. Threads False Eyelashes tap down www.wingitwithjade.comIf you hold them there the excess glue will stick to your fingers and will most likely ruin your lashes. So just tap gently all over until you feel like they’re secure.

Handy tip: I find using my ring finger helps me to remember to not apply too much pressure as that finger struggles to do anything independent anyway.

ET VOILA

Red Cherri

I’m not going to lie, when I saw this pair in the packaging I was a little bit scared. I usually only pick “lengthening” style lashes, and these ones looked much more dramatic to me but boy was I wrong…

I suppose what surprised me the most about Red Cherri at first was how natural they felt to touch! They looked a bit harsh, scary, and slightly uncomfortable, but when I took them out I couldn’t believe how life-like they were!

From the second I put these on, I was in love!! My eyelashes felt longer, fuller, and sexier than ever before – I mean, look at this pose I’m doing here! If my face doesn’t scream confidence in this photo I don’t know what does.

Red Cherri has re-taught me to never judge a book by it’s cover because I will 100% be investing in more of these. They would be so perfect for a night on the town, or a glamorous meal, or any time I just fancy a little boost of sass.

When I wear these babies out in future, I intend to pair them with a gorgeous smokey eye, a dark nude lip and of course some killer heels!

I can’t believe how natural these lashes look! I didn’t feel like a circus freak as I always expected with the fuller lashes. I simply felt sexy! I keep using that word but that’s because it perfectly describes how I felt about them.

Charleston

As I’ve said, I always tend to go for the lashes which provide the most length, whilst not being too intimidating. So when this set arrived at my doorstep I had super high expectations, and they didn’t fail me…

I can say without a doubt that Charleston have now replaced my usual drugstore go-to lengthening lashes for so many reasons.Threads False Eyelashes Charleston selfie www.wingitwithjade.com

Threads lashes are much better quality and feel so secure once they’re on. I also LOVE how these lashes filled out mine, whilst still looking so natural.

You can’t even tell I have false lashes on!!! It just looks like I was born with naturally flawless lashes, and that is exactly what we aim for isn’t it?! They highlight and perfect what you already have.

Charleston would be absolutely perfect for a day time or a more nude look. When I wear them next, I fully intend on wearing a thin layer of liquid eyeliner (I don’t go anywhere without my wings) and a bold lip.

Another great thing about these lashes is that after a while, I totally forgot I was wearing them! They aren’t too heavy, or so long that you can see them out of the corners of your eyes. They’re just perrrrrfect.

Final thoughts

I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to trial these products and to write this review. I’m so thrilled with the two samples I’ve been sent and I can’t wait to test out even more from the Angel Lashes range! I already have my eye on quite a few; but first, I will definitely be stocking up on Red Cherri and Charleston.
